summary:
Troubled screen writer Charlie Kaufman (Cage) is having insecurity issues with his life; both career and personally. His brother Donald (Nicolas Cage) is also a writer with a totally different style and outlook on life. Susan Orlean (Streep) hires Charlie to adapt her non-fiction book “The Orchid Thief”. It’s about fanatical orchid breeder, John Laroche (Cooper), who clones rare orchids to sell to collectors, but he is absolutely perplexed. With ingeniously complex flashbacks he learns that the book has the duality of also being about a person’s desire to experience passion.
