Suspended, Nick(Douglas) feels a sense of liberation and begins to act out more of his
impulses. He takes up Catherine's (Stone) offer of a night out and soon they are
spending the night inside her bedroom. But as their lovemaking reaches a climax,
Catherine pulls out a white scarf and ties him. Was this a sex game to imitate the
crime Nick was investigating? Or maybe this is her MO and she really is the killer.
She bends back and the two complete their game, Nick still alive. Perhaps it was just
a game, but the possibility certain held the tension in the air.
