Like the trademark, plunging death of her boyfriend Bo(Willis), Drew(Kidman) dives into the water
herself as she seeks release in the cold waters by the creek. Startled by her sudden plunge,
Billy(Dean) rushes quickly to her aid as she gets out of the water. Benton is great with the
imagery and camera angles as you see flashes of Kidman's body through the murky water, as a
symbolic plunge into realization and depression, easily conveyed by Kidman herself, who should be
appreciated for her courageous portrayal and comfort in the role in general, not to mention this
cold water scene.
