In the opening of the film we are introduced to Marie (Parillaud), a female
vampire haunted by memories of a lost love and an appetite she will not
satisfy with the blood of the innocent. Instead, she chooses the unjust;
criminals as her prey and picking up a newspaper, notices a crime boss who
she might fancy a taste. She decides to pay him a visit. Parillaud's
nude monologue is a great way to open a movie. Not only does it set a sexy
tone, but also quickly establishes a plotline.
