Do not read or download the clips if you haven't seen the film but intend on doing so. ******** warning ********* Seemingly haunted by the possibility that Jessica's (Holmes) killer is still out on the loose, Wayne (Kinnear) urges Annie (Blanchett) that they must go search for answers before it is too late. When they go back into the swamps, the visions return and this time in total clarity. After Donnie (Reeves) dropped Jessica off, another man picked her up. It turns out it was Wayne, who wanted to confront her about her infidelity. But when she turns the accusations on him and calls off their relationship, Wayne reacts and chokes her to death. During this vision, Annie sees glimpses of her own demise and cautiously turns around to face the killer, alone. It may be too late because she can't hide the horrific knowledge visible on her face. It is an unintentional coincidence that the message of this scene - there may be more to a person than what you think you know - also applies to actress Katie Holmes, whose previous works largely cast her as a girl-next-door. Her role as a slut and willingness to expose herself added more strangeness to an already eerie film.
