Away from their people, Noro(Lee) and Ramana(Holt) sit by the
palm tree they carved each other's symbols on in an expression of their
love. Noro reveals he would be allowed to marry Ramana if he wins the
Birdman race and she hides away for six months in the virgin caves. It
is a horrible proposition, but Ramana agrees to the high chief's terms
because she truly loves him and will do everything she can, just like
he will win the race for her.
