Mel(Witherspoon) and her boyfriend Jeff(Schreiber) are at a holiday resort. After making love,
Jeff is asked if he loves her and he adamantly responds. As he goes to wash up, Harry(Newman) appears, intent on
taking Mel home. The whole scene introducing Newman and Witherspoon is a bit uneasy. Although not included, Newman
takes Witherspoon outside after this clip where he drops his gun and she accidentally ricochets a bullet into his leg.
The dramatic atmosphere enclosing such a comedic scene left me with bewilderment at this vague attempt at
campiness.
