Miranda (Nixon) is dating playwright Thomas John Anderson (Hickey), a man who can
satisfy her sexually, but a peculiar habit begins to spoil the mood. Immediately after
sex, he would get up and quickly shower, a throwback he claims, from his youth
when he was taught unmarried sex was a sin. How a normally intelligent man can
assume that showering, a symbolic baptismal gesture, will erase his deeds, is baffling to both
Miranda and her friend Carrie (Parker).
The brief apperance of nudity could be considered a nipple-slip since in the remainder of
the sequence, Nixon is wearing some type of material over her breasts, perhaps prompted
by worries that her breasts would be shown on-screen...or maybe it was the uncomfortable
nature of her co-star's hairy chest.
